Raksha Bandhan
The One Thread That Still Holds Everything Together
-
There's a particular kind of sweetness reserved for the day a sister ties a thread around her brother's wrist. It's not just sugar and ghee — it's the taste of a promise being renewed. Raksha Bandhan has always worked this way: a small ritual carrying a lifetime of "I've got your back." And in almost every home, that ritual ends the same way it begins — with a box of mithai changing hands.
This year, Raksha Bandhan falls on Friday, August 28, 2026, with the shubh muhurat running from 5:57 AM to 9:48 AM. Bhadra Kaal wraps up before sunrise this year, so the entire morning is considered auspicious for tying the rakhi — no waiting around, no watching the clock

Why sweets are non-negotiable on Rakhi
Long before hampers and courier deadlines, the exchange on Raksha Bandhan was simple: a thread for protection, a sweet for love. The sister ties the rakhi, does the tilak, and feeds her brother something sweet as a wish for a good year ahead. The brother, in turn, offers a gift — and very often, sends sweets back with her. It's one of the rare festivals where the sweets flow in both directions.
That's the spirit we've built our Rakhi edit around — mithai worth handing over in person, and dry fruit boxes worth shipping to a sibling three cities away.

What to send this Raksha Bandhan
- Kaju Katli: The one sweet almost every rakhi thali has room for. Silver-leafed, melt-in-the-mouth cashew barfi that reads instantly as "occasion sweet." Order Kaju Katli
- Motichoor Laddu: Small, golden, and impossible to eat just one of — the classic laddu for a classic festival. Perfect for the sibling who still expects a laddu in hand the moment the rakhi is tied. Order Motichoor Laddu
- Mysore Pak (Hard & Soft): Rich, ghee-forward, and unmistakably festive. Send the crumbly hard version to the traditionalist in the family, the soft version to whoever likes their sweets a little more indulgent. Order Mysore Pak
- Rasmalai: For siblings who'd rather have something soft, milky, and saffron-scented over anything fried. A quieter, more elegant way to say the same thing. Order Rasmalai
- Kakinada Kaja: If your sibling likes texture as much as taste, this is the one — a crisp, syrup-soaked bite with a long-standing Andhra history behind it. Order Kakinada Kaja
- Dry Fruit Honey Laddu & Anjeer Dry Fruit Roll: For the sibling who's cut back on sugar but not on celebrating. Rich with almonds, cashews, and figs, sweetened mostly by honey and dates — festive without the guilt. Order Dry Fruit Honey Laddu · Order Anjeer Dry Fruit Roll
- Besan Laddu & Dry Fruit Gud Barfi: Old-school, jaggery-and-ghee favourites that most brothers and sisters grew up on. Nostalgic, homely, and always well received. Order Besan Laddu · Order Dry Fruit Gud Barfi

Sending Rakhi gifts across Bangalore — and beyond
A lot of Raksha Bandhan gifting these days isn't handed over in person — it's a sister in Whitefield sending a box to her brother in Jayanagar, or a brother abroad asking us to make sure his sister's box reaches her before the muhurat. We deliver fresh mithai across Bangalore, with same-city delivery from our Jayanagar and Marathahalli kitchens, and we also cater to USA deliveries for families celebrating Rakhi across time zones.
Because Rakhi week gets busy fast for every sweet shop in the city, we'd recommend placing your order at least 3–4 days in advance — earlier if you're ordering a hamper or a larger bulk quantity for extended family and cousins.

Corporate Rakhi gifting
Raksha Bandhan has quietly become a workplace gifting occasion too — team leads sending rakhi boxes to their reportees, HR teams gifting mithai hampers company-wide. If you're planning something similar, we do corporate bulk orders with customizable mithai selections, packaging, and delivery timelines built around your office schedule. How to store your Rakhi sweets
Most of our mithai is best eaten within a day or two of it being made — that's when the texture is at its peak. If you're gifting a box that won't be opened immediately, refrigerate it and let it sit out for 10–15 minutes before serving so the ghee softens back up. Keep everything in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight, and away from anything strong-smelling in the fridge.

There's no single fixed sweet — Kaju Katli, Motichoor Laddu, and Mysore Pak are the most commonly exchanged, though many families also send regional specialities like Rasmalai or Kaja depending on where they're from.
Can I order a mixed box instead of a single sweet?
Yes — we can put together a custom assortment box combining two or more sweets from our menu, ideal for gifting when you're not sure of one favourite.
Do you deliver Rakhi gifts outside Bangalore?
We deliver fresh across Bangalore and also offer USA deliveries for families celebrating Raksha Bandhan abroad. For other cities, reach out to us directly and we'll let you know what's possible.
